For the third consecutive year, Western Sydney University in Australia has topped the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings overall. With four universities in the top 10 and five in the top 20, Australia leads the field overall. Western Sydney University is ranked first, followed by University of Tasmania (=2nd), RMIT University (5th), UNSW Sydney (7th) and University of Technology, Sydney (=13th).
Both Canada and the United Kingdom had two places in the top 10 and three places in the top 20 of the overall list. With 105 universities, India has the most in the ranking. However, with 25, the UK had the most within the top 100. The sixth edition of the THE Impact Rankings was unveiled in June and has tripled in scope since its start in 2019. There are currently 1,963 ranked schools, up from 462 in the first year.
According to the sources, each institution’s performance in SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals and at least three of the remaining 16 SDGs. It cover a wide range of global challenges, from poverty and health to climate action, employment and innovation, reducing inequality and life on land and in water, it ranks universities’ contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Each of the 17 SDGs has a rating chart as well.
In comparison to the previous year, when 1,705 colleges were ranked, a 26% rise, a record 2,152 universities from 125 countries/regions were evaluated.
